This concept suggests that the universe communicates with us in a weird yet wonderful way. Number Medicine

This is how Spirit communicates through numerology, often referred to as Angel numbers. Each number carries unique energy and guidance, so when certain numbers show up in your life, it’s Spirit’s way of nudging you to pay attention to their deeper meaning. Angel numbers can appear in all sorts of combinations, not just the repeating ones we often hear about; a classic example being 1111, which many recognize as a call to embrace a more spiritual outlook on life.

Personal Example: 9 and 1

I’ve noticed different combinations of 9 and 1 showing up for a while now. As a numerologist, I receive many messages through numbers, but the persistence of 9 and 1 has really caught my attention. They mostly appear on the clock at 9:11, 9:10, or 9:01, but also appear in addresses and license plates that cross my path. A few years ago, I took the leap to start my own business as a spiritual life coach and numerologist dedicated to helping others enhance their personal and spiritual growth. While waiting for that to fully take off, I still work as a virtual assistant for mental health counselors as a “day job.”

The constant appearance of 9 and 1 feels like a gentle reminder from Spirit that this transition is ongoing, preparing me for a new beginning. According to Fairchild’s book, my personal development is going through an “upgrade,” urging me to nurture what I want to thrive in my life. Maybe I keep seeing these numbers because I’m still working on fully embracing this new chapter. They’re definitely a sign that I’m on the right path, even if it’s taking longer than I expected.

Animal Medicine

This is the practice of recognizing and interpreting the spiritual messages that animals bring into our lives, often through unexpected encounters or persistent appearances. These creatures act as guides, offering wisdom and insight tailored to our personal journeys.

Personal Example:  Sharks

The shark swam into my life in the most unexpected way: through a string of TV promos for shark-themed shows and movies that kept catching my eye, one after the other. It was a bit surprising, really, because sharks were never creatures I felt particularly drawn to. But suddenly, I found myself captivated, so much so that I insisted to my husband that we had to go see them at the aquarium. In a beautiful twist of synchronicity, we unknowingly planned our visit during “shark week,” making the experience even more special and meaningful.

The sharks brought me a powerful message of personal strength and confidence, urging me to stay focused on my goals and face whatever was holding me back with courage. After our visit, I took a moment to express my gratitude for their guidance, and just like that, they gracefully exited my life. Now, whenever I find myself at a crossroads, trying to decide which way to go, I remember their message: stay focused and keep moving forward, no matter what.

Song Medicine

This is the way Spirit communicates through music, using lyrics, melodies, and the timing of a song to deliver messages that resonate deeply with our souls. These songs often appear just when we need them most, offering comfort, guidance, or a nudge in the right direction.

Personal Examples: “Sara Smile” and “Turn Me Loose”

During our lengthy search for a new home, I kept hearing two songs that seemed to follow me everywhere: “Sara Smile” by Hall and Oates and “Turn Me Loose” by Loverboy. The process was frustrating – it took us about eight months to find the right place, and I was starting to lose hope. “Sara Smile” really caught my attention, not just because it was a song I wasn’t all that familiar with, but because my mom, who’s now in spirit, used to call me “Sister Sarah” even though my name is Brandi. So, it felt like, as that song played, that she was offering me reassurance, reminding me that everything would work out.

“Turn Me Loose” struck a chord for a different reason. Even though I was ready to move, I also felt a deep hesitation because we were leaving a generational family home that had been in my family for 50 years. The song was a bittersweet reminder from Spirit that it was time to let go and move forward, even if it wasn’t easy.

For those eight months, I heard these songs constantly – sometimes even back-to-back – whether driving in the car or shopping in stores. It was like they were following me, carrying messages from Spirit to keep me going. But, you know what? After we finally found our new home and settled in, the songs stopped playing as frequently. Now, when I do hear them, which is rare, I can’t help but smile. They remind me of the journey, the guidance, and the support I felt during that time.

The Rule of 3

They say the third time’s the charm, and when it comes to “Message Medicine,” the number three packs a punch. It’s like the universe tapping you on the shoulder, saying, “Hey, pay attention!” When a sign or symbol shows up three times, it’s a clear message that there’s something important you need to acknowledge. In numerology, the 3 is a catalyst that changes things without changing itself.

This pattern of three is a key element in understanding how Spirit communicates, signaling those moments when the cosmos aligns to deliver a message just for you.

A perfect example of this happened to me a few years back. Within 18 hours, I received three butt dials from three different people – one of whom never calls me. While we all get butt dials from time to time, it caught my attention because of the rapid frequency.  This was the rule of three in full effect. What was I supposed to make of it? After some research and reflection, I realized it was a multifaceted message – a bit of congratulations and also a nod toward transition.

Whether it’s the same number sequence catching your eye, a specific animal crossing your path, or a symbol that keeps popping up, these moments of threes are like the universe saying, “Listen up!” They remind us that our lives are woven with threads of mystical guidance just waiting to be unraveled. By tuning into these signs, we start a deeper conversation with the universe, where we’re not just drifting along but are consciously connected to the spiritual messages around us.

Everyday Practices for Tuning into Message Medicine

Incorporating a few simple practices into your daily routine can help you stay attuned to Spirit’s messages. These habits will deepen your connection and make recognizing and interpreting the guidance always available to you easier.

• Keep a Journal: Regularly jot down any synchronicities, dreams, or symbols that stand out to you. Over time, patterns may emerge that reveal deeper meanings or messages. A journal also helps you track your spiritual growth and the evolution of your connection with Spirit. I love rereading my old journals to remember how connected everything is.

• Stay Curious and Open-Minded: Approach the world with a sense of curiosity. Instead of dismissing coincidences or unusual occurrences, explore them. Ask yourself what these experiences could mean and how they might relate to your current life situation. Remember, they’re happening for a reason, and they’re happening to YOU for a reason.

• Trust Your Intuition: Pay attention to your gut feelings and inner knowing. Often, Spirit messages come through as intuitive hits or sudden insights. Trusting your intuition helps you discern the messages that are meant for you. Don’t overthink it.

• Engage with Symbols: Learn about common spiritual symbols and their meanings. Familiarize yourself with numerology, animal totems, or other symbolic systems that resonate with you. The more you understand the symbols, the easier it becomes to recognize and interpret messages from Spirit. Start your very own “sign dictionary” to become acquainted with what the symbols mean. Every time you get a new medicine message, take note of it and write (or draw) out what it means, both from your intuition and research.

• Be Patient: Sometimes, messages from Spirit aren’t immediately clear. Trust that the answers will come when the time is right. Patience allows you to remain open and receptive without forcing interpretations. Asking Spirit for a message is one thing, but actively looking for it is another.

• Express Gratitude: When you receive a message or experience a synchronicity, express gratitude. A simple “thank you” reinforces your connection with Spirit and encourages more communication in the future. “Thank you, Spirit!”

Staying attuned to the metaphysical messages around us is crucial for personal and spiritual growth. Just like taking medicine helps us heal physically, embracing “Message Medicine” nurtures our soul, guiding us toward deeper understanding and fulfillment. Remember, what’s meant for you won’t pass you by. When a message is destined for you, it will find its way to you – no need to stress about missing it. You can’t. Spirit’s got your back and wouldn’t let that happen. But here’s the thing: you’ve got to stay open to receiving them because sometimes, they’re subtle and easy to overlook. Like Ferris Bueller wisely said, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” Same with Spirit signs. Embrace message medicine, and let it enhance your journey in ways you never imagined.

At first glance, a coincidence is a remarkable occurrence of events or circumstances that seemingly happen by chance without any apparent causal link. Yet, Jung perceived a deeper layer to these happenings, recognizing them as expressions of the interconnectedness and Oneness that underlie the very fabric of the universe.

Synchronicity, therefore, reflects the universe’s inherent unity, hinting at a web of connections that transcends time and space. This concept moves beyond “randomness,” suggesting that certain events are meaningful because of their connection to our inner selves and our intrinsic part of the One Source. In understanding synchronicity, we acknowledge that each seemingly random event in our lives might be a part of a larger narrative woven by the universe itself.

How Does Synchronicity Work?

At the heart of synchronicity lies an intricate dance choreographed by Spirit. This celestial symphony orchestrates synchronicities as a part of its intelligently designed order.

Intertwined with this cosmic design, our lives allow synchronicity to manifest as a delicate bridge connecting our inner experiences with the outer world. This bridge does more than link two points; it serves as a conduit for messages, insights, and guidance, bridging gaps we often didn’t know existed.

However, synchronicity’s essence lies in its subjectivity, making it a deeply personal experience that defies a one-size-fits-all explanation. Through our intuition, the significance of these meaningful coincidences comes to light, tailored to each of our journeys and understandings. What might be a profound message or affirmation for you may appear to me as nothing more than a fleeting moment, and vice versa. For instance, it’s the difference between hearing a favorite song on the radio and hearing it at a moment that seems to echo our innermost thoughts, fears, or dreams.

Synchronicity’s subjective nature invites us to tune in more closely to our intuition and seek the wisdom that lies within. It reveals its power in the personal realm of perception and intuition, offering us a glimpse into the connectivity and order of the universe as experienced through our individuality.

Why is Synchronicity Important?

In a word, connection. 

When we recognize synchronicities, we engage in a form of cosmic dot-connecting, weaving seemingly unrelated events into a tapestry of meaning that inspires and energizes. This ability to see patterns and messages in the world around us fuels our creativity and nurtures our mental health.

It helps us feel connected to loved ones who have passed over; it strengthens our faith in the unseen and deepens our trust in life’s journey, reassuring us that we are guided and supported in ways beyond our immediate understanding.

Awareness of synchronicity often leads to seeing the world as a more harmonious, orderly place, offering a sense of peace and belonging that is fundamentally linked to our well-being. By inviting synchronicity into our lives, we open ourselves to a more connected existence, where every “coincidence” is a potential source of insight and every moment holds the possibility of revelation. This, in turn, guides us toward a fuller, more integrated view of the world and our place within it.

What is the Purpose of Synchronicity?

Synchronicity serves two purposes: as a message and a reflection, guiding us like an internal counselor and mirroring our deepest inner workings.

When synchronicity presents itself as a message, it’s often at moments of pivotal change or decision-making, subtly nudging us toward paths we might not have considered. For instance, seeing a series of numbers together (like 9 and 1) might symbolize an end, heralding the beginning of a new chapter and urging us to embrace change and the growth that comes with it.

On the other hand, as a reflection, synchronicity mirrors our emotional and psychological state, offering insights into our inner world. Encountering repeated themes or symbols, such as encountering anger in various forms, prompts us to introspect—perhaps highlighting some unresolved anger in our lives that requires our attention.

This dual role of synchronicity not only deepens our connection to the universe but also enhances our self-awareness, encouraging a journey of personal discovery and growth.

Sources of Synchronicity

Meaningful coincidences that gently nudge us toward deeper truths emanate from Spirit, affirming the idea that everything is indeed a manifestation of the divine. These signs, tailored to resonate deeply with our experiences, manifest through various channels, each uniquely suited to capture our attention and convey their messages.

Dreams may reveal symbols and scenarios that mirror our subconscious thoughts; numbers might align in patterns that speak to our inner mathematician; and songs, with their melodies and lyrics, can echo the sentiments of our hearts. The natural world, too, communicates through animal behavior and patterns within nature. At the same time, conversations, overheard snippets, printed words in media, and the vast digital universe of the Internet and social media provide a constant stream of potential synchronicities.

The essence of these messages lies in their resonance—a personal frequency that ensures the sign finds its way to the one for whom it’s meant.  This personal resonance ensures that when a message is intended for us, it will unmistakably catch our attention. In other words, if we notice it, it’s meant for us. Think of it like this:  Synchronicity is Spirit’s way of calling us, speaking to us as if we were on a personal call with the divine.

The Rule of 3

However, some of us need a few extra nudges; this is where the “Rule of 3” comes in.  It’s a principle suggesting that a message may need to present itself three times before its significance is fully realized, underscoring the idea of synchronicity as a catalyst. Like a catalyst that sparks a reaction without being consumed by it, these tri-fold repetitions invite us to shift our perspective or take action, facilitating personal growth and transformation.

A quick personal story: On the day of my wedding, I was excited but also sad because my mom couldn’t be there with us physically since she had passed on a few years before. I remember thinking about her and how I wished she could be there to celebrate with us and meet my soon-to-be husband. I had a quick errand to run that morning, so while I was in the car, a song played that stopped me in my tracks; it was Paul Simon’s “Mother and Child Reunion.”  The chorus of the song (let alone its title) is what got me;

Oh, the mother and child reunion, Is only a motion away
Oh, the mother and child reunion, Is only a moment away

I knew immediately she heard my wishes and offered a comforting hello from the other side, letting me know she would be there momentarily.  I cried, smiled, and thanked Spirit and my mom for bringing me exactly what I needed to hear.  It made a great day even better!

Synchronicities like these and many others serve not just as signs but as invitations to engage more deeply with the world around us. They encourage us to seek Spirit in all things and recognize the guidance it offers.

Interpreting Synchronicity

Interpreting synchronicities is a subtle art that marries intuition with research, guiding us toward a deeper understanding of the messages. At the core of this process lies the power of intuition—a silent whisper within that offers clarity amidst the noise of everyday life. We must embrace patience and silence to connect with our inner voice, allowing thoughts and feelings to surface naturally, without force. It’s then that the synchronicities begin to reveal their meanings as we start to connect the dots intuitively.

Yet, intuition is only one-half of the equation. Research plays a crucial role in deciphering the symbols and signs that synchronicity lays before us. Whether looking up the significance of a recurring number, exploring song lyrics, or understanding animal behavior and symbolism, research can provide context and deepen your understanding. However, it’s important to approach this research with discernment, taking what resonates and leaving what does not. Remember, everything we read (including this post) is someone’s interpretation. 

Ultimately, the most profound insights come from trusting our gut and recognizing that we are the best interpreters of the signs meant for us. This combination of intuition and research, underpinned by patience and trust in our inner knowing, is the key to unlocking the rich, personal guidance that synchronicity offers.

“Reading signs” is an intentional practice that opens doors to deeper understanding and connection with Spirit’s subtle guidance. Here are some things I’ve found helpful:

Maintain a Sign Journal:

• Write down or draw the synchronicities you encounter to create a personal record.
• This journal tracks your progress and helps decipher the messages Spirit brings you.
• The journal becomes a sacred space where patterns emerge, meanings deepen, and the dialogue with Spirit grows more profound.

Approach Synchronicity with Openness:

• Remember that not everything is a sign; Spirit is always communicating, but discernment is key.
• Approach synchronicity with openness rather than expectation, fostering a mindset receptive to guidance.

Ask for Signs Without Forcing:

• When seeking guidance, it’s okay to ask for signs, confirmation, or a message, but resist the urge to force their appearance or beg for them. Trust in Spirit’s natural timing and wisdom.
• Allow signs to emerge naturally, trusting that what is meant for you will find its way into your awareness. Remember, what is meant for you cannot pass you. Begging for signs can create a neediness that may cloud your ability to see and understand the signs already before you. Trusting the process allows for a more authentic and meaningful connection to the guidance offered.

This delicate balance of seeking and allowing, coupled with the reflective practice of journaling, cultivates a more receptive state of being where synchronicities can be recognized and appreciated for the gifts that they truly are.

Let’s look at the specific meanings behind each number when paired with zero, uncovering the unique messages and guidance they hold for each of us:

• 1 with 0 – Signifies divinely ordained new beginnings, offering a resounding “yes” to any new undertaking. It’s an encouragement to proceed, “pass go and collect $200,” assuring us of unwavering support from the universe for any new endeavors we begin.

• 2 with 0 – Suggests an emerging divine link or cosmic intervention within our relationships, indicating deeper spiritual connections and destined meetings.

• 3 with 0 – Heralds the start of something fresh, whether it’s new life or a new path, marking a phase of creation and the onset of exciting journeys.

• 4 with 0 – Gently encourages surrender to the divine plan, reassuring us that the spiritual realm is overseeing the unfolding of events in perfect order.

• 5 with 0 – Foretells significant changes and movements, possibly involving travel, relocation, a shift in career, or a transformation in self-perception, all under the loving guidance of Spirit.

Recognizing the significance of zeros in our life can deeply affirm our connection with the cosmos, inspiring confidence in the journey ahead, knowing that we are supported by Spirit every step of the way.
